Tip of the Month (and a little bit more): January edition

I realize that its been a while since my last post but that brings me to this month's tip:  Do something else!

Now don't go and get the wrong idea.  Most of us are heavily involved in the hobby, whether its building, painting, or playing.  For some, almost every waking hour is somehow dedicated to the games we love.  But, what happens when you start getting that nagging feeling that your work is not your best, the game is losing its fun, or your motivation to build things is lacking?  The best answer is:  Do something else!

At the end of last year, I had taken on so many commissions, I didn't have any time for my own stuff.  It was build, paint, send, build, paint, send.  So how to do I get back into the hobby without it feeling like a job?  Here are some examples:
Its an exact replica of a kitchen!
I built a kitchen for our house.  Its just like building a model, except bigger and with more powerful tools.
The bathroom bandit strikes again!
I took the kids out and played with them more!  Nothing tires you out like a two and a four year old.

The list goes on.  Now I'm not suggesting to leave the hobby entirely.  But just like anything else, you need to take a well deserved break now and then; a vacation to leave you refreshed and with a new perspective.
